12 weeks to a fitter you

Looking for some motivation and a place to start when it comes to getting healthier? Here is 12 weeks worth of sessions to get you moving in the right direction towards hopefully a healthier, happier you! It is a great time to get moving – keeping active through the colder, darker months of winter will have great benefits come spring and summer!

The 12-week challenge was originally written for the inaugural Hunter Health Kick with the option of doing a 10k fun run at the end. But the main objective was to give people some inspiration with varied sessions. Hopefully by the end you or someone you know will find some sessions you like which can help you achieve your fitness goals.

The sessions are designed for outdoor training but you could modify them for the gym (you can replace the suggested short runs/walks each week with any form of cardio – bike, stepper, rower) and at home. You won’t need too many props – a skipping rope and a set of dumbbells and some solid enthusiasm should get you there.
