Interval sessions can be painful but usually rewarding in the long term. The thing I love about interval training is you feel like you are working hard (generally because you are!!) but generally you don’t have to do long sessions to reap the rewards. So you can bash out a good 20 or 30-minute interval session and the metabolic rewards for your body are generally great.
